We have been approached to see if we would be willing to help out by burning off the deadfall in a series of controlled fires along the trail. This is a great way to help repay them for their kindness, a great excuse to enhance the youths’ fire making skills, and also sounds like a lot of fun!

As a bonus, any Scouts (including 3rd year Cubs) that have not earned their Fire & Match Permit will have an opportunity to do so.

We will be meeting at the Raft Shack at Riverfront Chalets at 10:00am on Saturday, November 10th and staying until 3:00pm. The goal is to be done our work by 2:00 at the latest so we still have time for a couple good games before the parents arrive. Lunch will be provided.

Kub Kar Rockets

To Be Determined...

7:15p - 9:00p

Tonight the 3rd year Cubs will be joining us for what will likely be a favourite meeting of the year. The purpose of these linking activities is to show the 3rd year Cubs the differences between Cubs & Scouts. In Cubs they build Kub Kars to race down a track. They are told to be extremely careful with them and never play with them for fear of damaging them and affecting the race...

Well in Scouts we are going to take those Kub Kars, strap rockets to them, and see how far we can make them fly! Seriously! Going to be a great night at Scouts!

Families of our Scouts are welcome to attend as we hike up Bear Mountain to Scout Rock for our investiture ceremony. Surrounded by nature, our new Scouts will make the Scout promise and become official members of the worldwide Scouting movement. After the ceremony we'll blaze a campfire atop the mountain for all to see the Scouting spirit is alive and well.

NOTE: Only youth attending the Jamboree will be invested tonight. The remaining youth will be invested in the fall
