Beaver Scouts Registration
Registration for the 2012/13 Scouting year will be Monday, September 10 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm at the Memorial United Church.
Space is limited for all sections, so please plan to attend registration night.
Your child is more than welcome to attend up to three Beaver Scout meetings at no cost and with no commitment before they formally register in order to see if they will enjoy our program.
We are somewhat limited in the number of Beaver Scouts we can accept as Scouts Canada has strict policies on leader to child ratio and on maximum group size. If we are unable to accept your child due to having insufficient adult volunteers, you could always volunteer yourself! We are always seeking adult volunteers to help us deliver our program!
Beaver Scout spots in the colonies will be filled in the following order:
- Leader's youth
- Returning members of the section
- Swim Ups
- New members on a first come, first served basis
Scouts Canada charges a $147.50 registration fee per youth to cover the costs of running the national program, training leaders, maintaining camps and property, and providing groups with insurance. Our group does not retain any portion of that registration fee. We rely on our four fundraisers and on dues collected at each meeting to finance our program. The registration fee is payable by cash or cheque made out to "4th Grand Falls Scout Group"
Please note that your registration fees, activity fees and camping fees qualify as a tax write-off under the "Physical Fitness Activity Tax Credit"
