Why Join Scouts?

Scouts Canada is the country's leading youth organization. For more than 100 years, we have brought a world of adventure, outdoor experience and friendship to 17 million Canadian youth. Scouts have a lot of fun discovering new things and experiences they wouldn't have elsewhere.
Along the way they develop into capable, confident and well-rounded individuals, better prepared for success in the world. Scouting offers a world where you can discover the best in yourself and the best in others.
NEW MEMBERS ARE WELCOME THROUGHOUT THE YEAR! Bring your youth to one of our weekly meetings and try out our program for up to three meetings, free of charge and with no commitment! Please check the events calendar for the section first to ensure we will be at our regular meeting place.

No Child Left Behind
It is our goal to involve every eligible youth in the Scouting Movement. We have financial assistance programs that are available to families to help cover part, or in some cases all, of the registration fee. Please contact us for more information.
Youth Protection
Scouts Canada places great importance on creating the most secure environment possible for our youth members. To maintain such an environment, we apply rigorous procedures and guidelines related to youth engagement. Our ‘suspend first, inquire later’ policy requires that any report of misconduct triggers an immediate and explicit response:
Here you’ll find access to summaries of our rigorous Youth Protection practices.

Corduroy Brook Hike

Tonight is our annual hike through Corduroy Brook Pond. This hike serves as a great warm-up to camp, and it's a fun opportunity to get the youth into nature. We will also be covering the final chapter of our "Friends of the Forest" book which explains the process of "swimming up" to Cub Scouts for our silver-streaked (grade 2) Beaver Scouts.

Olympics Medal Ceremony
7:15p - 8:30p
In our final night of the 2012 Summer Olympic Theme, we will be starting it off with one final team game then we will gather up for the medal ceremony, and present all the badges earned. Work tonight will complete the Red Star and Canadian Healthy Living Award for most youth. The youth will then participate in the closing ceremony which will not only close our Olympics, but also our last regular Cub Scout meeting of the year.
Before we go, we will be working on our camp preparations for our Aspen Brook camp in June. The youth will be preparing their menu, packing list, etc. This will work towards their Camping Badge and Trailcraft Badge.
